Sorry bad blogger here

Actually have been quite busy and have had no time to plan any projects to do as tutorials. But I thought I would show you some projects I made for Kristy at DragonflyScrapbooks
to use as displays to show off some of her new products, all these products are available at her website.
This floral bouquet was made using Basic Greys "Capella" PP, ribbon doilies, die cut stickers, Kaiser rhinestones and pearls & an aluminium beer stubby.

Close up of vase. I cut strips of PP, then cut into those strips but not all the way through so I could mold them over the curves of the vase. I used the doily ribbons to accent some of the joins. Once finished I coated it in mod podge.

This flower was made with the largest flower from the die cut sticker pack that I mounted onto a piece of PP and then layered it with a variety of punched flowers. I inked the edges and curved the flower by pressing it in the middle in the palm of my hand. The centre is a Kaiser pearl.
All flowers were mounted on floral wire by putting the wire between the layers of petals.

Post cards From New Zealand - Kaiser framed album, Ruby Rock it "the Summer house" PP, alphas, trims, bitty buttons, unknown ribbons scraps and chipboard tags.

Kaiser frames using Memento "Petite Princess" & "Impish Girl" PP. WOW chipboard shapes (trees), Tattered angels Glimmer mist, Ruby Rock it "The Summer house" alphas (sanded back and covered in glimmer mist), BG Cappella ribbon doileys, Kaiser flowers, kindy glitz.

Treasure tin - Corinthian wafer tin, My little shoe box "Monsters Knocking" PP, Kaisers rhinestones, Making memories mini glimmer alphas, unknown ribbon.

Have fun and don't forget to let me know if you have made this or any of my tutorials. Add a pic to your blog and leave me a link.

Altered Love Tins

The first item I ever altered was a tin. My love of altering all things came from this.

Today I want to share with you how easy it is to alter tins with the instructions on how to make the pictured "Love" tin. Of course you can make your anyway you want and below I have shown you pics of various tins I have altered over the years. I have included instructions on how to measure and alter tins of any size or shape.

If you would like to try altering a tin here are the instructions.

Papers & embellishmetns are available at Dragonfly Scrapbooks

These 3 tins were featured in The Handmade magazine August 2007. The tall tin is an Illy coffee tin, the B&W is a Harris coffee tin and the front one is simply a biscuit tin.

Each of these tins are purchased tins.

More Biscuit tins.

Illy coffee tins. These are my favourite tins to cover. Check out you local area for a cafe that uses Illy Coffee and politley ask them what they do with there tins once they have emptied them.

More Illy tins.

Simple verse canvas

For my first project I have chosen a very simple canvas with a Bible verse (or quote ) and a very simple flower embellishment.

First we need to collect our supplies :- a small (5x7") mounted canvas (which I have lightly inked in a light green and blue), mod podge (adhesive & sealant), double sided tape, alphas stickers of 2 different sizes, 2 large fabric flowers, a smaller flower and a spiral paper clip.

Place one of the large flowers on top of the other but not quite centred so the flower behind peeps out a little. Cut them down the centre of the top one, adhere together using a small piece of double sided tape. Fold the smaller flower around the cut edge, adhere with tape. Attach the spiral clip over the folded flower. Adhere your completed flower to the left side of your canvas using mod podge.

Using a pair of tweezers begin to arrange your alpha stickers on your canvas. I have chosen to use a variety of basic grey alpha stickers but this would work just as well with all of the same stickers. Or if you have a die cutter cut your own letters and use those.

once you are happy with the placement of your letters remove one line at a time and apply a light coat of mod podge then replace each word.
I used Carolees creations tiny letters and numbers for the "Philippians 4:4".

Once you have finished give a final coat of mod podge to seal your canvas. to avoid getting mod podge on your flower lift the petals carefully.
Here is our finished project. I have chosen a bible verse but this would work with any favourite quote.

here is another of my canvases using another of my favourite Bible verses.

Flowers and mod podge are available at Dragonfly scrapbooks
Enjoy trying this fun project & please leave me a message and a link to your blog if you have made it so I can check it out.
